Tiburon commuter ferry service discussions lead to next step in process

JOINT STATEMENT

FROM ANGEL ISLAND TIBURON FERRY, BLUE & GOLD FLEET AND GOLDEN GATE FERRY CONCERNING TIBURON COMMUTER FERRY SERVICE DISCUSSIONS

(TIBURON CA, Friday, February 10, 2017) – Representatives from Blue & Gold Fleet, Golden Gate Ferry and the Angel Island Tiburon Ferry met for two hours at Tiburon City Hall Thursday morning to discuss safety and operational issues at the Tiburon Ferry landing.

The discussion was very productive and helped to clear up past misunderstandings. The parties are all committed to bringing Tiburon commuters improved ferry service in the safest possible way and without unnecessary delay.

Golden Gate Ferry is looking forward to bringing a sublease agreement with Blue & Gold Fleet back to the full Board of the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District on February 24th. If the Board agrees to move forward, Golden Gate Ferry service will begin soon after.

The three ferry operators wish to thank the community for its patience through this process.
